Hi Molly,
First, please go to Start, type Internet Explorer in the Search box and see if it can be launched. If it can be launched and used properly, you can simply drag the Internet Explorer item listed on the Start menu to the Taskbar. After that, it can be launched easily by clicking the pinned icon.
If Internet Explorer cannot be found or launched, please try the steps below to reinstall Internet Explorer:1. Please go to Start -> Control Panel -> choose "Large icons".
2. Click Programs and Features.
3. Click "Turn Windows features on or off" on the left pane.
4. Check "Internet Explorer 8" and then click OK.
5. You may need to restart the computer after that.
Note: If Internet Explorer item is checked, please uncheck to uninstall it first and then repeat the above steps to reinstall it.
Please check if Internet Explorer can be retrieved now.
Regards,
Linda
