I have a new Dell laptop with Windows 7 Pro.  I set up my own local account during installation, but there doesn't seem to be a facility to add new local accounts.  Domain accounts can log on, but I want to restrict that.

     Answered Has Code

Create / delete users from 'Local Users and Groups'.

    Start > Run > Compmgmt.msc

Also check out the 'Allow log on locally' and 'deny log on locally' security rights (in secpol.msc or gpedit.msc)

    Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment\

    K-D,

Thank you.  What is the purpose of this?  Why isn't there an Add New User interface where it has always been in the past?

Perhaps you're comparing with previous experience on WindowsXP?

Things changed a bit, back in the Vista timeframe, and this is one which carried through into Win7.
