After the file is downloaded, you must burn the file as an image to a DVD. The DVD will be bootable and you can either boot from the DVD or run the DVD from within Windows, depending on what type of install you are performing.

You should read the complete Windows 7 Installation Instructions and the complete Windows 7 FAQ before going any further.

Hope this helps.

Thank You for testing Windows 7

Ronnie Vernon MVP

Sat, 04 Jul 2009 01:00:12 Z2009-07-04T01:00:12Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/thread/984ff670-e750-4c31-bb26-09da3da1672e#c1824d48-6370-45db-af6f-877981d4d0f9http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/thread/984ff670-e750-4c31-bb26-09da3da1672e#c1824d48-6370-45db-af6f-877981d4d0f94us2us0ushttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=4us2us0usWhat gives?I just tried buurning it to disx using NTI, it said the iso file was to big on Data CD... but it started burning to cd when I chose the Backup option. So do I back it up or what?Sat, 04 Jul 2009 08:40:03 Z2009-07-04T08:40:03Zhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/thread/984ff670-e750-4c31-bb26-09da3da1672e#5f10165c-28f2-4afa-bf57-22940dc642a9http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/thread/984ff670-e750-4c31-bb26-09da3da1672e#5f10165c-28f2-4afa-bf57-22940dc642a9Sanmartinhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/en-US/?user=SanmartinWhat gives?Errr... you should really burn the image on a DVD, not a CD (2.5 GB to burn, if you use the 32-bit version!). I will not say that's impossible to span the content over 4-5 CDs or so, if you do the right things (the folder structure and the internal references must be maintained, or the result will be worthless). A "backup" don't give you such problems as it stacks the files without keeping them functional - result: only a waste of discs and time.
Mobile AMD64 3000+, VIA Apollo K8T800 chipset, 1 G RAM, ATIRadeonMobility 9700, 20x DVDRW, C:XPSP3 (55G),D:WIN7 (25G),F:DATA (250G)Sat, 04 Jul 2009 09:13:30 Z2009-07-04T09:13:30Z
