    Hi there,

    Two questions for you:

    (a) what windows have you got on your 1st partition?

    (b) do you want to keep the rest of your data on your 2nd partition?   If you don't, you can just format the partition to remove Windows 7.

I have Windows Vista 32-bit on my first partition, ok and before i format it, do i have to repair my bootloader for windows vista?  (i dont have any other bootloader installed except the one that came with microsoft unless windows 7 changed it)

Are you able to boot in Vista? If so, no need to fix the bootloader :-).
If not, with Win XP there was an option for Fixboot, which you could run when using the rpair function in the start of the install. Does you Vista CD give you that option also? )just boot from it).

What I always do to clean the partition, is just delete it, and create it again, quickest process all around. Just make sure if you don't do this regurarly to delete the w7 partition!

I expect what he probably means is how can he remove the 7 boot loader, not how can i totally remove the data from the install partiton . Reformatting the drive / partiton will remove the data of course but If his XP / vista bootloader is on the first drive it probably has the 7 one there also. Ofc the only option that will work is "boot old OS" at which point i believe the new boot loader calls the old one and his OS boots.

Bootloader questions are handled quite nicely in this thread.
