We are running x64 win 7 RC and running SolidWorks, it is amazing how fast over x32 Win XP Pro.
It is time to move on to RTM, so when I get the new software, what is the best way to upgrade.?

I would like to just upgrade, without a total wipe, since SolidWorks is a pain to install.

    Thanks

It is most advisable to start over again with a clean install and later reinstallation of all software.

If you absolutely insist upon performing an upgrade install then the Windows 7 installer will not, by default, upgrade a Windows 7 RC install.  You would need to create for yourself and altered installation disk:

    *  Make an ISO image of the disk
    * Use a suitable software tool for editing the ISO image, and locate the cversion.ini file in the \sources folder.
    * Alter the value of 'MinClient' in that file to a number lower than 7100, which is the build number of the RC release.
    * Burn the altered ISO to disk, to create an install disk which will upgrade your RC install.

Such procedures are, of course, "at your own risk" ones.  As already mentioned, it is better to use a clean install instead.
