Administrator?
-
Tuesday, June 12, 2012 1:19 AMI am planning to drop my land line phone company & move to a VOIP service. I have been informed I need to reset my LAN setting to allow for Full Duplex. The instructions I was given explain to click Start/Computer/right click Network/Properties/Local Area Connection/Properties/Configure/Advanced/select Speed & Duplex in Property: column & 100 Mbps Full Duplex in Value: column/OK. I followed all the instructions & everything seems to go smooth but it always reverts back to the original settings as soon as I close down the boxes. I read on another forum that I may need to follow this procedure as an Administrator. I bought this lap-top new & it has never been loaned out so I'm the only person to ever use it. If I'm not the Adiministrator how do I become the Administrator in order to make this setting stick?

Try the followinig procedures with administrator rights:
A.
1. Type "ncpa.cpl" in the start menu to open network connections.
2. Right click on your LAN adapter and choose properties.
3. Click configure, and then the advanced tab.
4. Choose the "Speed & Duplex" option and make sure it's set to 1.0 Gbps Full Duplex on all of your PCsB.
1.Start \ Run --> ncpa.cpl
2. Right click on adapter ... select properties
3. Click on "configure"
click on "advanced"
highlight the property "Flow Control" and change it to "disabled".Regards
