Windows 7 upgrade from Windows 8 OEM

We have several EDI programs to connect with suppliers and customers. We build parts for autos. We're concerned that the programs won't work on Windows 8 machines. Experience has taught us to be concerned, there's even one important one that won't run on Vista or Windows 7.
If we order a new PC with Windows 8 pre-installed, can I run the Windows 7 upgrade install (that we have licenses for)?
Thanks

You cannot use a Windows 7 upgrade license on a PC that is currently running Windows 8. I would recommend ordering your new PC's with Windows 7 Professional preinstalled. Example: HP Pro 3500 Microtower Desktop PC (ALTERNATE OS)Carey Frisch

Thanks, Carey.
I'm glad we asked this before purchasing. I'm sure our vendor can help us locate the right product.
