Our organization deploys a "privacy notice" using the interactive logon message in group policy (computer-windows-security settings-local policy-security).  This works fine on the XP machines.  The user has to acknowledge the message before being presented with the logon screen.  On windows 7 machines, even though RSOP says the policy is applied and the information HAS been entered in the registry, the message window never appears during logon.  Is there something extra that needs to be set to make this work for Windows 7 machines?

    Hi VtAndi,

I just performed a test on our test machines. In Windows 7, we need to configure both of the following Group Policy Settings to display the acknowledge message before the logon screen.

    Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options

Under the security options folder, there are two entries:

Interactive logon: Message text for users attempting to log on

Interactive logon: Message title for users attempting to log on

Either of the two settings isn't configured, the acknowledge message doesn't show up before the logon screen.

    Best Regards
    Dale
