Microsoft Windows 7 Update Error number: 0xC8000247

Tuesday, January 24, 2012 3:52 PMI have this HP Notebook, wherein I swapped the hard disk with a new one and tried to restore the notebook with HP provided restore CD. Now I am getting this Error number: 0xC8000247, whenever I try to update windows 7 with Microsoft Update

You can try using this FixIt tool to repair the Softwaredistribution folder

Lastly you can try repairing the Windows files by the below steps
Open command prompt
Type sfc.exe /scannow
