Answered Solid black screen after hard disk replacement

I replaced a hard disk by cloning it (I also did an image restore with the same outcome) with Macrium Reflect.

When I boot the PC, everything looks fine until it shows "Preparing your desktop...".  It eventually entered a solid black screen with active cursor. I tried safe modes, and ended up with solid black screen also. I can start Task Manager by Ctr + Alt + Del.

I tried the Win 7 installation to repair, but it could not find any problems.

I had luck using Reflect to migrate HD before.

Any tip to remedy this will be greatly appreciated.

The problem has been solved by using Acronis True Image WD Edition to clone the Seagate HD to the new WD HD.

I have had success in using Macrium Reflect to clone boot HD quite a few times.  I do not know why it did not work this time.
