How to turn off picture screensaver within MC?
-
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 4:35 AMI cannot find anywhere to turn off the picture wall/screesaver/"some other name" that turns on sometimes when MC is sitting at a paused show, or sometimes at other menu locations within MC. This is annoying as it uses a massive amount of system resources affecting shows that are recording in the background and other things, any ideas?
cheers
Jeff

In Library mode, click Organize, and then click Options. For more information about Library mode, see Getting started with Windows Media Player.

Click the Player tab, and then clear the Allow screen saver during playback check box.

Saturday, April 18, 2009 11:46 PMI tried that, (just a note, I had never before started media player on this machine, so I had to go through the setup procedure) and the option was NOT selected.
It is the screensaver that starts up in Media Center that I wish to turn off. It doesn't turn on all the time, but when it does, it uses a lot of resources. It seems to run the most when I am sitting at the recorded shows menu and leave the machine for a bit.
hopin for answers......
cheers

You can turn off this screen saver in media center under settings->pictures->slide show screen saver. It was bugging me too.

Thanks, this was driving me crazy and I didn't think to check under "Pictures" for the screensaver settings.- Proposed As Answer by audioguy61 Thursday, May 31, 2012 3:37 PM

Thanks, it was driving me crazy too. At first it was neat because it found all these pics on my server and made a slide show, and that was fine but... I don't want this thing to run all the time. As mentioned in another post, it uses a lot of local net bandwidth and overloads my poor little i3-based all-in-one that I use for Media Center TV. I looked in other places but didn't think to look in "Pictures."
