Hi, I have a 7 month old Samsung notebook. Im running windows 7, up until a week ago when I received a windows 'critical' update my DVD maker was running without a problem. After the update though I now get this message everytime I try to burn any disks..'The Dvd Maker engine returned an error code (-2) when burning the disc.'.and immediately after i get the message. 'Dvd Maker returned an error code (0xFFFFFFFE) when burning the disc.'.

    How do I fix this?

Please dont suggest purchasing a regcleaner, Ive tried them they dont work.

    Try re-installing Windows DVD Maker-

Start menu/Orb > Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features. Click 'Turn Windows features on or off' from the left pane. Wait for it to load. After it has loaded, expand Media features and uncheck Windows DVD Maker. Click OK, wait for the configuration process to complete and restart.

After restarting, open Turn Windows features on or off again, expand Media Features and check the Windows DVD Maker. Click OK, wait for the process to complete. Restart if prompted.

No idea why this would occur - you are one of the few ones experiencing this; and that too after a critical update.

    Hi,

As the issue occurs after installing the update, I would like to know the update ID and suggest you restore your computer to the date before updating.
