Friday, November 16, 2012 7:28 PMWhy do you want/need to update WMP? WMP 12 is not available as a separate download and is only included with Windows. If you're running Windows 7 SP1 then you already have the latest version.

Hi,
You can try to check for updates manually to confirm whether you need updates or not.
1. Click the Start button , click All Programs, and then click Windows Media Player.
If the Player is currently open and you’re in Now Playing mode, click the Switch to Library button in the upper-right corner of the Player.
2. Click the Help menu, and then click Check for Updates.
If the Help menu isn't visible, you'll need to show the menu bar. To do so, click Organize, point to Layout, and then select Show menu bar.
