Media Center Tuner not found
- I have a hauppage HVR 225 tuner with the latest drivers installed, Windows7 Home premium. The card works with Hauppages wintv7 application.
When I try to set it up in Media Center I get Tuner Not Found error message- Changed TypeSean Zhu -MSFT, ModeratorMonday, November 16, 2009 3:40 AM

Even if you tried to set up the tuner before you installed WinTV7, I'll ask that you first uninstall it. Multiple PVR apps on the same computer tend to not play nicely with each other - the two fight each other for control of the tuner, and one will lose.
So, uninstall WinTV7. Afterwards, run the hcwclear.exe utility (can be found on your driver CD), and reboot afterwards.
Then install the latest driver for the HVR-2250 (download link.)
Reboot if directed. Then run TV Setup in Media Center again, and it should work.
I can attest to this: I have an HVR-2250 (in addition to an HVR-1250, and an ATI Digital Cable Wonder) working on my desktop; none involved any pain to get working. For the '2250, I simply installed the above-linked driver, and ran TV Setup. It JustWorked.
HTH,
Chris

- Went through the steps and the problem continues, still getting "Tuner Not Found" error/
- Jimmy, is this a clean installation of Windows 7, or an upgrade from Vista?
Did you install your motherboard-chipset drivers, or are you relying on the drivers provided via Windows Update? If the latter, try the former.
Do you have any other tuners in the system?
Full hardware specs?
Did you have any issues completing the previous suggestions?

No problems completing the previous suggestion. It went as planned except for the result. I'm not sure how to update ther motherboard chipset drivers
- <I'm not sure how to update ther motherboard chipset drivers>
Usually, just download the driver installers from your motherboard (or computer) manufacturer, and run them.
Occasionally, you're better off hitting up the chipset maker itself, as they sometimes have newer drivers posted.
Repeat for video drivers (here, download from the chipset maker.)
Hardware specs (or, computer make and model, if an OEM (HP, Dell, etc.) machine)?
I'll help you find them; but, need to know what you have.
