Windows Media Center Weak/No TV Signal until I restart...
- SYSTEM INFORMATION:
I have Windows 7 x64 Home Premium installed on my system. I have a dual TV DVB-T Tuner installed (Geniatech T1880). I have an ASUS M2N68-CM Motherboard, 3.1GHz AMD 64 Dual Core CPU, 4GB DDRII RAM, 1TB HDD space, ATi Radeon HD 4350 512MB Graphics Card.
PROBLEM:
Sometimes, when I try and watch TV on my PC, I get either no TV Signal, or Weak TV signal, no matter what I do, whether its rescan, try new cables, try another Arial socket, none of these work, however, if I just restart, it seams to kick the tuner back into action again, this works every time, although I cannot find what could be causing the issue in the first place.
Any ideas? Any suggestions would be helpful!
Michael.

I found out that my transmitter is Sandy Heath. I've replaced all the coaxial cabling and such, and replaced the TV Tuner, which has made a big difference, however its still not right, its ok about 95% of the time, when I'm just watching 1 channel, however if I watch 1 channel and record another, its back to weak signal, (Green/pink blocks, pixellated, sound cuts out.)- Marked As Answer byVivian XingMSFT, ModeratorFriday, November 27, 2009 10:11 AM

- When you say restart, do you mean W7MC, W7 or a cold restart?
- I get same with MCenter but have app from Hauppauge which works for TV record/display when MCenter will not. If your card supplier has same, you could consider same but this is not a solution for you if you want only to watch with MCenter. You could go to re-setup TV in tasks/settings, maybe post any errors in Event Viewer here for further elucidation.
- I have to Restart Windows 7 (Start > Restart) I've tried just restarting media center, but that doesn't work.
- I tried it with the Total Media ArcSoft software that came with the tuner, still not luck, it tries to play it, however is still too weak to watch.
- What is your local transmitter?
Do you have any other means of checking your signal quality?

- Muxes 2,A (most non BBC) are transmitting at low effective signal level. Are you sure of your aerial and feed quality? Do you have any amplifiers or splitters?
What model tuner did you replace with?
