Help I have a problem with my Blu Ray Drive. the problem is i can see it in the bios ok and it come up in My Computer for about 10 minutes then it will disappear and the laptop would

freeze for about 3 minutes the only way to get it back is to manually scan Device Manager and then it will disappear again. Yes I have the latest drivers.  Also in Vista I do not have a problem, this only happens in Win7.  Please help.

    Hi there

I have fixed my problem. I went to the Sony site and they have updated their drivers for Win7, I updated everything to do with the SATA devices and that fixed my problem. It is not the Blueray drive but the motherboard and its drives and firmware.

I hope this helps and good luck.

I have this exact same problem with the Matshita BD drive. Ever since I upgraded to windows 7 the computer will freeze for a couple of minutes and the disc drive will whir, then when it returns the drive will have disappeared from My Computer and won't be recognised in Windows at all. I can get the drive to return by troubleshooting in the Action Centre, but then the process repeats. Any advice?
