I've dug through all the forums and could not find anything to solve my problem. If you know a forum you think I overlooked, feel free to post it, but I have may have read it already.

Suddenly no media player is capable of playing audio files. Not iTunes or WMP or anything. The player just opens up, displays the song name and such, but then won't play. It's not that I don't have audio; the song won't move forward in time (i.e. in iTunes, the diamond just stays frozen at 0:00).

My speakers work fine; I can play YouTube videos with audio no problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes via a suggestion, and it didn't work. I don't think it's specific to a media player, as the problem persists between both iTunes and WMP.

Possibly not, but the problem may have started two days ago when I tried to export some mp3's from Pro Tools and then play them in WMP and iTunes to test them. Every time it would display an error message and then not play. I thought I had just done something wrong with the export, although I couldn't find a fix. Then today I tried to play songs from my iTunes library (songs which have never had trouble playing before) and then it simply wouldn't play, no error message. This is true for all my music and audio files; it's not exclusive to WAVs or MP3s or anything.

Any help would be much appreciated.
