How do I tell WMP12 to update the library?

Very simple scenario: I have a library with hundreds of folders and thousands of files. I decide to change the name of a folder (i.e. an album) and to modify some ID3 tags (with a third party tool) of the files (songs) within this folder.

WMP12 shows these files with the old tag information but it won't play the files because it can't find them. I try to delete the album from WMP12 with right-click and delete: nothing happens. The album remains there with wrong tags.

The only way out of this situation is to remove everything from the library (takes several minutes) and then add the whole library again (about 40 minutes).

So everytime I want to change a tag using a decent tag editor (let's not get started on the ATE issue) I need almost one hour before I can play that song again.

Is there any other way?

By the way: I tried "apply media changes": it analyses the files for about 15 minutes but it doesn't do anything.

Cannot play files on mapped network drive using WMP12

Hi,

I can play files on my local c: drive just fine using WMP12 on Win 7 x64, but whenever I attempt to play files on a USB drive that is formatted NTFS that is connected to my LinkSys firewall/router/WAP, I get the following error:

"Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted." I am able to play files using QuickTime or WavePad sound editor, but never with WMP12. I have read other people are having the same problem, that it has something to do with indexing. I attempted to make a new soft link in Windows Explorer using a new library entry that links to the mapped drive, but the soft link won't work. I also read that the system needs to be able to index the networked drive for WMP to work on them, but I was not able to index the mapped drive. Help! I've always been able to play files on my Windows XP laptop without any problem. However, exactly the same problem with Windows Media Player happens on my wife's recently purchased Vista x64 machine with SP1.

ok so this is the problem, it seems that with the new WM 12, they have removed the "Playlist" tab, and you only have 1 tab, called "Play", whereas before you had a "Now Playing" and a "Playlist" Tab.

this is my BIG one and only gripe about WM12, everything else is great, but this is a big smelly ball of ____.

WHY did they remove the Playlist tab? now this thing smashes ALL my music into ONE place.

making big playlists, and going back to my library to check if i have "repeated" songs in my playlists is IMPOSSIBLE, since whoever was in charge of engineering WM12, had the BRIGHT idea of making WM12 CLEAR the playlist in the right pane, and add your ENTIRE music library to it whenever you play any song...

i mean i seriously can't believe how you can make all of Win7 so good, and everything is great, and then make an amazingly stupid and annoying mistake like this one...

and i have looked EVERYWHERE inside WM12 to find a setting to make it so it doesn't do this ____, and i have found nowhere.

Windows 7 Image thumbnails will not load.

I recently built a new computer with Windows 7 64bit. I however have been trouble with some folders that have images inside them with the thumbnails loading. I made sure in folder options to have the setting checked. The weird part is that some folders will load half the images as thumbnails then just seem to stop loading them. Has anyone come across a problem like this before?

Windows 7 media center "long pause" during picture playback

Hi,

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate RTM, then I copied my digital photos (approx. 58,000 pictures) under the public\pictures folder.

Then, with the Media Center, I playback photos from picture menu.
During the playback, the slideshow "pauses" once in a while (every 3 to 5 minutes or so).
Pause lasts 30 to 60 seconds.
During the "pause" period, media center seems frozen (i.e. no keys, remotes input are accepted) but after that, it works fine.

This problem was observed with Windows 7 RC too.

I had the same number of pictures stored in Windows Vista Ultimate and there was no problem like that.

Anyone have same problem? Any idea to fix?

How can I keep my "Play Count" and "Date Added" history?

Hi -
I have been using Windows Media Player 11 for years and I've really enjoyed having a history of when I bought my music (or added it to my collection), and having play counts to show what I've been listening to. I was kind of shocked to see that when I completed an "easy transfer" from my old computer to my new computer that all of this information was reset.

How can I get that information from WMP 11 database to the WMP 12 database?

I am unable to set media center to open up when inserting a DVD in the drive, WMP opens up. I have tried changing the default programs, changing the Autoplay options.
Is it a bug in the new OS?

Media Center Access Code lost

I Upgraded from Vista Ultimate to Win 7 Ultimate and either I have forgotten, or the Access Code has been reset. I cannot watch many TV channels as it comes up rating exceeded enter Access Code. It is possible that one of my kids has set the Media Center Parental Controls Access Code and will not own up to it.

Is there a way I can reset the access code when it is lost? I really do not want to have to completely reload Win 7 Ultimate if I can help it.

Slow USB transfer

Hi, i have a Freecom 250 GB harddisc, and when transfering data in windows 7 it goes very slow. I am talking 1 mB/sec. But when doing the same filetransfer on a vista computer it goes about 10 times faster. I am sure that my USB port is USB 2.0, so what might be the problem?

Windows Media Center LOW BIT RATE

I have recently upgraded to WIndows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and my TV tuner, which worked perfectly with Vista64 now constantly displays the Low Bit Rate message and that the tuner card is not capturing data. This is a false error as if i am recording the tv show and view it later as recorded TV the entire program is recorded with no missing video or audio.

In these forums, i see clearly that Microsoft just refers the person with this issue to some "community" and seems to wash their hands of it. In my search for a solution to this problem i have found hundreds of people with different TV tuners, all experiencing this issue.

Can anyone at Microsoft comment on this issue, other than directing me to an external forum or user group?
A REAL response to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

ATI "theatre mode" output fullscreen video on secondary display

This was an issue in Vista as well that was never resolved. Doesn't seem ATI is letting me output a video to my secondary device when i am playing them in a media player. I had the same problem with an nVIDA card. Basically theatre mode outputs video to your secondary device in full screen so you can still use your computer while the video is playing.

A quick google search indicates that this is an overlay issue, a feature that was disabled in vista. This essentially means that i cannot output any of my home movies to my TV. What gives microsoft? Why are you preventing a feature that worked just great in XP?
Are there any workarounds?

This was initially a dealbreaker for me with Vista. If Windows7 will suceed where Vista failed, then this is essential.

Windows 7 Media Center Set Up

After installing Windows 7 and trying to set up the Media Center, on the 2nd step (TV set-up) I get an error message "download failure" and as a result the computer will not download a guide. I used my zip code on the 1st try, and then tried the zip codes of most of the metropolitan areas in the USA, and the example shown in the window, with the same result. The setup was completed and there is live TV, but there's no data available for any channel because the guide was not downloaded. My TV Tuner is a Gateway ViXS Pure TV ATSC, and the driver seems to be the latest for this device. The Windows Media Center worked perfectly when Windos Vista was my OS, and the guide was downloaded each week.

Can anyone help me with this dilemma? I contacted Microsoft Tech Support via e-mail and then was in touch by phone. They offered a host of possible resolutions but none worked. I have a Gateway FX530XG, and it meets all of the requirements for Windows 7. My zip code is 22151.

Is it possible that Windows 7 excludes the set-up data for analog transmissions, which is what I have from my cable company. The cable companies were not affected by the change by law of air transmissions being digital only? If this is so, Microsoft has made a big mistake and should correct it in an update for the Windows Media Set Up. If it all worked in Windows Vista (just 2 weeks ago for me) then surely it should work with Windows 7.

Windows 7 “Play To” not functioning with Playstation3

I am trying to stream media files (music and video) to a PS3 using Media Player 12 in Windows 7. The PS3 is networked via a wireless modem router with the PC as a media server (currently the PC to router connection is wired via ethernnet with the router to PS3 leg wireless). The network is currently defined as a home network. The PS3 can see the PC and is able to stream and play all shared media files from the PC.

The PC sees the PS3 as an “unknown device” albeit on “other networks” rather than local. Clicking / Right clicking on the play to icon in media player 12 fails to find any suitable play to devices.

Is the Playstation 3 currently a supported device for play to functionality? Should I be able to establish this connection using play to?

Windows Media Player 12/Windows 7 Freeze

When I'm watching h.264-encoded mp4 files streamed from WMP12 on Windows 7 x64 RC to an Xbox 360, Windows 7 does a sort of "slow freeze" after about 10 minutes of playback. The Xbox freezes playback as if the network connection was interrupted, so the Xbox recovers just fine. However, after I scurry downstairs to my desktop, I find that although I can still move the mouse and click on things, nothing actually works. After about 30 seconds of that, the mouse and keyboard stop responding and the machine fully locks up. I've tried waiting the freeze out, but after about half an hour I gave up on that.

I have used msconfig to do what I have seen described as a "clean boot": disabled all services after hiding the MS services. This does not appear to have made a difference.

I previously had the Combined Community Codec Pack installed (mostly just on habit - I assumed it was needed), but I have since uninstalled the pack. I haven't had any issues playing any of the same videos on my desktop since it was removed.

I have checked the Application and System event logs, but there is nothing there for troubleshooting; there's the usual event ID 6008 (unexpected shutdown) and 41 (unclean shutdown) in the system logs. Every once in a while WMP adds some events to the application log citing the Xbox requesting the media to share, but this isn't consistent, and they're not errors anyway, just informational messages.

I'd sure appreciate some suggestions for troubleshooting what really looks like a completely silent halt. Windows 7 has opened up brand-new and exciting ways for me to brainwash myself with whopping-high-quality video, but this really puts a kink in my habit.

Here's something new - after the most recent freeze, the machine recovered after about 10 minutes, and reported these:

Event ID 7009
A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the Windows Error Reporting Service service to connect.

Event ID 14104
The Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service cannot process the request for URI '' from IP address '10.10.35.44' due to error '0x80070043'.

10.10.35.44 is the Xbox 360. Any thoughts?

Video and Pictures Grainy and Pixelated in Windows 7 x64

I have been testing Windows 7 x64 from the first beta and RC up through current RTM, in which I have purchased the official Win7 x64 Professional Upgrade of which I am planning to install shortly. The issue I am about to describe has been present in every build that I have tested and continues to persist without explanation.

My setup involves an ASUS P5E motherboard running an Intel Q9450and a NVIDIA 8600GTS graphics card. I have been running this setup with Windows XP flawlessly for a year or two. I watch a lot of videos and various formats on my desktop, as well as do some freelance photography with a DSLR, so I'm very in tune with picture and movie quality.

When I first transitioned to Win7 x64, I noticed that pictures looked a bit grainy and video output looked terrible. I can watch a clip in XP SP3 that looks great, switch to Win7 and it looks terribly grainy and pixelated at the same window size. I posted up on several forums and got various answers to try and fix the problem, none of which have worked. I have tried various codec installations, un-installations, and have tried many NVIDIA graphics drivers ranging from the latest 190.* drivers all the way back to the 181.* drivers (even tried a couple of the 181.* drivers in Vista x64 compatibility mode) to no avail. Each time I made sure to completely uninstall all related NVIDIA drivers and run driversweeper to erase any/all nvidia related files before rebooting and installing a different version.

Nothing seems to fix this problem and no one can explain why or how this is happening. Some have suggested that Ultimate comes with built-in codecs that could be causing these issues but I cannot verify this. Others have also noted this problem with NVIDIA 8 and 9 series cards as well as a few people with ATI cards, so it could very well be a problem inherent in the underlying OS.

I would really like to have some sort of explanation for this as this is keeping me from doing the official upgrade to the official version I just bought. I love Windows 7 for everything else and it's terribly frustrating that this terribly annoying problem cannot be figured out by anyone. I am looking for any and all insight as to what the problem could be here so that I can not only fix it for myself, but help out others in the community that are having the same problem with no end in sight.

DVD playback stops in Windows 7 Media Center at random times

Tried yesterday to play a DVD again in Windows 7 Media Center, and I got again very frustrated that DVD playback stops after a few miinutes.
How can I watch a DVD at home with my wife in the evening in Windows 7 MCE?

It seems strange that microsoft is not providing a fix for this. I am using Media Center as a home media solution. Since I run Windows 7, I am experiencing the same problem. It IS a problem of Windows 7 Media Center, because I used Windows Media Center on Vista for more than 1 year, and I never had this problem using the same hardware configuration of my PC.

I also noticed, that when I disable subtitles all DVDs play correctly without stopping playback.
It seems that the problem has something to do with subtitles.

This problem is clearly a bug and should be fixed by microsoft.
I find tons of other people reporting this problem on various websites.

Optical Audio to Receiver no longer works properly

I've recently switched over to Windows 7 from 32-bit Vista Home Premium with the TV-Pack and I've had issues with my audio ever since. I am using the same configuration as before, the only difference being the change in OS. Vista allowed you to set up your speakers to 5.1 surround and it even allowed you to select the type of audio connection. In my case, I was able to select the radio button beside the image of an optical connector. When I tested the speakers, I got sound from all 5 speakers just fine. I could control the volume of ALL my media thorugh Media Center. I installed Windows 7 and the first thing I noticed is that there was no longer an option to select an optical connection. Next, my 5.1 surround test failed every time. I've updated every driver from Realtek for my MOBO audio to no avail. I can only control the volume of my music through WMC now. Everything else has to be controlled via my receiver. Why was the option to select optical output removed in the first place?

"Copy Prohibited" Playing WTV file on another computer

Using Win7: This week I recorded a TY show off the FX Channel "sons of anarchy" and tried to play it on my other Win7 system. I received the error

"Copying Prohibited The broadcaster prohibits this content from being copied. You can only play this content on the same computer on which is was recorded."

Both systems are running Win7 Ultimate - why wouldn't I simply be able to point to share on the other computer (which Library setup allows you to do) and play the file from my other system?

Windows Media Player won't open

Windows Media Player opens once during a Windows session. After closing WMP, it will refuse to open again. When opening a file that opens with WMP, a message comes back saying Server Execution Failed. This is a clean install with no additional software installed. The only thing is that the media library uses files over a network share.

Edit:
Event viewer gives this error after the server execution message is displayed.
The server {ED1D0FDF-4414-470A-A56D-CFB68623FC58} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

Accessing the Win 7 Media Center EPG programatically

Although there is info in the SDK for SCHEDULING and EPG APIs, neither of these allow you to get the information out of the EPG. They are fine for scheduling a manual recording, but I can't find a way to extract the information from the store.

I've got all the way from opening the objectStore, listing lineups, Channels, Services all the way to Schedule entires, but program information appears to be missing that is available through the GUI in Media Center, even if I pull the objects direct from the store by their IDs.

Any help?

DVD RW drive does not Read/Write DVD's. it can read CD's though

hello i got a unique problem.

my DVD rom is not able to read / write a DVD but can read a CD though.!

i am using Optiarc DVD RW AD-7190s drive which is SATA and uses AHCI on DG33FB motherboard.
my current bios version is Intel corp. DPP3510J.86A.0572.2009.0715.2346

My PC configuration is
Processor: intel core2 duo 2.66 GHZ
motherboard: Intel. DG33FB
ram: 2GB
HDD: 1 SATA 160 GB HDD and one IDE 80GB HDD

OS: windows 7 ultimate.

i saw many posts on the internet and i wasnot able to get this thing working.
i followed the following steps

1. i tried deleting the upper and the lower filters.
2. i also flashed my mother boards bios to the current one .. performed a cumilative flash.. with all the bios versions flashed one by one as per the release date.
3. i also enabled my AHCI driver on my OS
4. i also uninstalled Nero8 as someone on a Forum had posted nero kinda blocks access to the DVD drive. for some particular scenarios. ( honestly did not belive that but still i performed the step )
5. also tried to test my DVD drive on various microsoft OS: XP professional sp 3 , Vista ultimate, windows 7
did not work on anyof them except.. in Vista Ultimate when i uninstalled my drive through device manager and reinstalled my drive the drive would let me read a DVD only once.
once i remove my Disc and load anyother disc it would not read it. :(
6. i tried to rewire my drive by opening my cabinate and used another SATA port. still got no response.

Searching for a latest driver for my Drive but not able to locate it anywhere.
if any one of you can direct me to the latest driver for my DVD drive model .. it would be great.

Reading a CD is not a problem.

did not try Writing a CD or a DVD.

Microphone output sound delay

Hello,

I'm a musician. Often, I plug my headphones into my laptop and listen to music. Then I plug my guitar in the microphone jack and enable the microphone sound output so I can play along with the music on my laptop. In other words, I use the laptop as a mixer.
Now with Windows 7 RC x64, the mic in output has quite some delay, between 0.5 and 1 second. The laptop is an HP 2510p with ADI SoundMax HD integrated audio.
With Windows XP, this has not been an issue.
The driver is the one that Win7 automatically got via Windows Update. I also tried the Vista x64 driver provided by HP, no difference.

As you can imagine, such a delay makes playing along songs impossible. When I strike the guitar, half a second later I hear it from the speakers.

Is there any suggestion what I could try? Change settings, regkeys, drivers?

Windows 7 Media Centre completely disabled - can anyone help?

Hi. Had new laptop for under a week. Cannot open Media Centre or Media player. Programs hang for 30 seconds + then receive "server execution failed" error message. Cannot play audio files or access streaming music or video. Cannot play CDs. Issue seems to have started after my wife attempted to access BBCi player. All apps seemed fine before this. I am a relative novice with computers so need some simple steps to follow if possible.

Windows 7 Recorded TV on a NAS directory

Hello, I'm tryng hard to record TV on a mapped network directory.
I'm a MCE user since XP Mediacenter, then Vista and finaly 7. The problem of recording on a nas is well knowed one and there was some way to do it anyway with the older SO.
Having a look to the beta release I saw 7 gave me the chance to choise also a mapped directory without any Voodoo ritual.
Now i have the official Ultimate one and i discovered that mapping option is a read only option.

I'm using a MiniITX system with a ION mainboard and a 30Gb SSD from OCZ, my intenction was to move every archives on the NAS on a Gb LAN.

Now I know is'nt possible by default and i'm looking for a solution.

The first way i've been tring it's been to do like this:

mapping a whole drive of the NAS as Z:\ on My Computer

delete the folder C:\users\public\Recorded TV

create the virtual link C:\users\public mklink d/ "Recorded TV" Z:\

I did that to force the system using that folder, it looks like C:\users\public\Recorded TV on Explorer, so another one can not be created.

No way, the ehrec.exe can't start and can not be also manualy started.

So i've been tryng using the VHD support included on 7 creating, attaching, initializating and formating a local E:\ drive from the NAS source.
The first one i made was a 1Gb to make a quick test. MCE offer me both C:\ and E:\ as recording folder. Choising the E:\ one I have a kind of "nice" error, MCE told me it was to small and invite me to choise a minimum 12Gb one, i said it was a nice one because it means I was on the right way.

So I let Seven bluilding a 20Gb one for a better test. With the 20Gb one i did'nt have error about size but then same problem as with the virtual link, ehrec.exe can't start and tuners become unavaliable.

The idea for the system is to put the TempRec folder on a RAMDISK (that's works) and the Recorded TV on the NAS.

Windows Media Player 12 Missing/Not Working in Windows 7 Home Premium

I have a Windows 7 Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600 on an HP DV7 Laptop with pre-installed Windows 7, and also running Office 2007. A friend borrowed my laptop and now Windows Media Player 12 is non-existent on my laptop. It does not show up under programs available, nor does it show up as a choice for playing media files. Before it disappeared, I was totally unable to play any files on a USB hard drive connected to a linksys router with all my media files. I had previously created the Rescue Disc and Recovery Disks. Does anybody know how to repair windows so that I have Windows Media Player 12 again? I looked on the Microsoft website, and it is not available for download. And does anybody know how to get it to be able to play music files on a hard drive attached to a Linksys WAP/firewall-router?

Windows 7 and iPhone and Dell

For months I synched 4 iPhones with iTunes on Vista on a Dell Vostro 1500. Then I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate in October and have had problems since.

Now the iPhone is never found by Windows (no iPhone icon in the Computer window) and the iPhone never shows up as a USB camera device in device manager.

The usbaapl.sys driver always installs and shows up in device manager as Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.

Sometimes the iPhone does show up as a device inside of iTunes. Sometimes then the 3GS iPhone can be synched in iTunes.

Sometimes the iPhone doesn’t show up as a device in iTunes and sometimes when it does, the synch fails.

Always, when I eject the iPhone from iTunes, Windows 7 tries to compete the installation of the iPhone as a camera USB device and the installation fails. The message is ‘device driver software was not directly installed. MTP USB Device. Device Unplugged.’

Media centre loads fine and I can access recorded TV, music, video etc fine. I can also go into a picture library and view the pictures but as soon as I try to navigate back I get a 'media centre has stopped working' message. It only happens if I have navigate 2 levels down or more. i.e. I can go into 'picture library' and come stright back out again but if I go into the picture library and then into a folder or tag and then try to come out it crashes. The event log shows:

Hello guys,

I'm looking for an "easy" way to record audio+video in Windows 7 from a webcam. There is no need for advanced features or editing. Just the possibility to record some videos as it were a capture device. Is there any out-of-the-box solution? (I didn't find any).

Windows 7 Media Player - Server execution failed

My PC woes started a few weeks ago - I had RAM issues which I have since solved. However, during the course of trying to diagnose the memory problem, I installed and uninstalled a myriad of programs.

And now my Windows Media Player won't play, while Media Centre crashes if I go to the Music or Video sections (Live TV seems to be fine though). If I start WMP from the taskbar shortcut, the window flashes up briefly before disappearing. If I try to start it by double clicking an audio file, I get the "Server Execution Error" message.

I've tried disabling all media features in the Windows Features section, and then re-enabling. This did not work. Note that iTunes works perfectly , playing the same mp3s that are crashing WMP.

I'd really rather not have to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate edition just for this one problem...

Can I revert back to WMP 11 in Windows 7? WMP 12 is a broken piece of BETA quality software.

First let me say that I am not a Microsoft hater or I wouldn't have upgraded all 3 of my home computers to Windows 7. However I am having major usability issues with the default media applications which I have paid for and expected to be able to use. I have not experienced any other major problems with Windows 7, but this is bad enough for me. I have been using my system to stream media files (mostly music) to a D-Link Windows Media Center extender. Everything was working properly (albeit a bit buggy) with Windows Vista and WMP 11. Now that I've upgraded to Windows 7 x64 I cannot get WMP 12 to load my mp3 library of approximately 450 GB. It keeps trying and trying and dominating my system resources only to "unwind" and lose all the library info. I had this problem and reported it while using the RC, but was hoping it would be resolved by the official release. I guess I was too hopeful and now I need to get this fixed. I would be more than willing to uninstall WMP 12 and install WMP 11 if it is possible...of course, I'd also be happy if Microsoft could fix WMP 12 too.

Windows Media Player 12, possible memory leak

I am running Windows 7 RC1 64bit on a q6600, 8gb of ram and well over 2 tb worth of space, across 3 drives, and a gtx 280. When ever i try and watch videos I can watch one but because WMP doesn't really close anymore if I switch to a new video with a different codec I have to force WMP to close in task manager. The last time I did this it was eating 3.5gb of memory when I shut it down. Does anyone know what is causing this or me telling you now might help you guys find the problem. I am watching video recorded in all types of formats and use k lite mega codec for the codecs needed.

Windows Media Player 12 Library is completely broken for me

I cannot get WMP 12 to import my library. I have searched all the related posts and have since disabled Media Sharing, deleted my %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player directory and tried reimporting, etc. but nothing works.

I have a large mp3 collection shared on the network from another Windows box. I add the folder (tried as a mapped drive and UNC path) and it begins importing. After about 30 minutes into the import (the CurrentDatabase_372.wmdb hits just under 400MB) my WMP player stops importing and all of the icons in WMP turn to red x's and my library is gone. I close and reopen WMP 12 and the library is empty and the CurrentDatabase_372.wmdb is small and it strarts importing again. Rinse, lather, repeat.
I am going nuts as WMP11 on Vista handles this same setup perfectly. I am at my wits end on what else to try.

I am running a legit Windows 7 Ultimate X64 RTM install.

Why is Internet TV missing from my Windows 7 Ultimate Windows Media Center?

Today I found out that you can watch Internet TV through Windows 7 Media Center. I went to do this. I followed the steps. Tasks>Settings>General>Automatic Download Options>Download Now.

The download completed successfully, but when I go to the Windows Media Center Start Screen under TV all I see is RECORDED TV and LIVE TV SETUP

What is the problem?

Why am I missing this Internet TV feature?

Low bit rate error

I am currently using Windows 7 final Build OS, I am also getting the Low bit rate error message while I'm watching live TV. At first I thought it was a driver or TV card issue until I tested 3 different TV cars with up to date drivers, the Avermedia Hybrid Volar Hx, MPC718 mini PCI and the Pinnacle PCTV Hybrid Pro PCI. I have also tested the 3 different TV card on different PCs just to make sure it wasn't my pc playing up and to my surprise, the low bit rate screen came up on each of these TV while watching live tv. I am certain this is a Microsoft issue.

How to disable or remove option "delete" in Xbox360 extender connected to Windows 7 MC?
After finishing watching a video, Media Center (windows 7) presents me with three options: "delete" "resume" "restart"
Supposedly kids or someone mistakenly pres delete, ignore warning and ,,,,,,, YOUR VIDEO IS GONE !!!. I have tried changing permissions, but no luck.
