    Greetings,

    I am using the native Windows 7 wireless supplicant for connecting to my AP that's using WPA2-Enterprise. I validated that my connection works fine and 802.1X authentication succeeds with the back-end RADIUS server.

    My AP supports redundant RADIUS servers so if the primary server is offline, then the secondary server is tried after about 40 seconds. The issue I am seeing is that when my primary RADIUS server is offline, the Windows 7 supplicant gives up trying to authenticate and de-authenticates shortly before my AP would start using the secondary RADIUS server. If I try to connect again, the same issue occurs. I have successfully used Funk Odyssey supplicant in this scenario, as it has a slightly longer retry mechanism.

    Does Windows 7 support any kind of configurable retry mechanism for wireless 802.1X authentication? Perhaps a registry setting...?

    Hello,

    I'm afraid that windows 7 wireless supplicant doesn't have such place to configure the retry interval. Are you able to reduce the interval of trying the secondary radius server on your AP?

    I do have control over AP, but do not want to make the failover too aggressive.
