DHCP Timeout to fix a Symantec Endpoint Protection Client.

We are going through some DNS restructuring. My clients occassionally cannot pull an IP address before the Symantec Endpoint Connection Client senses a problem with the network and locks down their network settings.
the Symantec Endpoint Protection Implementation Guide says "This problem is a timing issue. Change the DHCP Timeout setting to 12 seconds or more. "
I have been all over the registry under HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet and did not find anything that jumped out at me about a "DHCP Timeout" registry setting. What is this setting really called?

Hi,
This would be related to the Symantec product setting, not a Windows setting, you could refer to the following article, which mentioned some parameters in Symantec product:

Given this, I suggest you could ask a question with Symantec support:

Lets pretend I never mentioned Symantec. Thanks for the pointers, though. I will look at them.
Is there possibly a registry setting underneath HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip that controls the amount of time the machine waits before timing out while waiting for a DHCP address? At some point, it would instead use the Autoconfiguration address. I would like to increase that timeout.
As an example, here is a link to registry setting (TcpMaxConnectResponseRetransmissions) that might have been the one i am looking for: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc938208.aspx.
I looked up many registry settings this way but hadn't found one. i was hoping i had simply missed one.

Hi,
I cannot find any clue about this entry, but maybe you can take a look at the following article which discuss the dhcp client behavior:
