    Hello all,

I've found that i am having complete failure with HTTP access to things in anything other than my browsers, and my IM client. IE, Flock and Digsby all work OK.

But anything else that uses HTTP seems to fail, for example:

    • Connecting Visual Studio to an FPSE extended site
    • Showing images in html emails in Outlook
    • Desktop Gadgets that connect to http services online (e.g. weather, stocks, etc.)
I have tried completely disabling my anti-virus software (NOD32), with no luck.
I have tried completely disabling Windows Firewall, with no luck.

I have this problem when connecting both to my home and work networks.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance; CheerZ!

Go to control panel, internet, connections tab, LAN settings and disable Automatic config(s).

    Try that.

Ah! That worked PERFECTLY! Thanks for the help!!!!!

How does that setting default, do you know? I know I hadn't changed it, so I'm just baffled that it was set.

Thanks for the perfect idea!!!!!  :)

The default is on, and it worked for awhile, then stopped working for some mysterious reason.

yup yup, that was my case exactly. Everything was working fine, then one day i woke up, booted up, and tried to open a website for development work, and what? No more work! That was when i noticed my desktop gadgets, and Outlook messages not showing too.

    Crazy stuff! LOL

Very glad to have it working again!!

All in all, i gotta say i am LOVING 7, for any MS guys who may be reading!
