I have one user, the president, who is having an issue with saving any of his documents. The error below, I am able to open up the file find from browsing through the computer of word to the Documents folder. But it won't save back to the same location. If I click ok on this error it comes up with the Save window showing all of the documents in that folder. This is a new problem, as he was able to do this fine about 3 weeks ago and previously before that for 6+ months.
I am on SBS 2008 domain with Window 7 Pro machines and using folder redirection and all my other users are fine with the same policy. I have been through forums and tried checking permissions etc. on his redirected folder - nothing worked. I went through the support article about creating/repairing folder redirection but that didn't solve it.
Here is the error - any help would be greatly appreciated.
\\servername\m data\users\folder redirections\name\my documents\"any folder of his" cannot be found. Check our spelling, or try a different path.

Checked and Personal is set to \\srv2008\m data\users\folderredirections\Raymond\My Documents - this path is the correct location I want to use.
We are able to open up the files from the correct location and see but can't Save to the same location - this changed about 2 weeks ago and there was nothing I did on the system/server for permissions.

From the user's account, can you drag and drop a file into the location? Can you create a test.txt file in the location? Can you create a new folder in the location?
If no, then it may be a permissions problem. Check share permissions, NTFS permissions. Check read only attributes.

Very strange things happening. I had checked already the permissions and Read Only - but I went and checked again - those settings are ok.
I was able to make a new Text document and edit and save that document again in both Documents and My Documents under Documents Library. But when I went to try with one of the original files, an excel document, I could open it but when saving the same error message came up.

Still trying to figure out what changed/happened to stop the file from saving. only current/old files are affected. I tried a new text document create and open and save again ok.
Wednesday, October 10, 2012 12:46 PMHi. Check if those particular documents have read-only attributes or read-only permission. Go to their properties anc change their permission to FULL if necessary.

Why is that the Mod seems to just copy and paste things here? Sorry But i am having the same exact problem as Synca has. We are on Windows 2008 DC's and Win7 Pro x64bit. Very weird. User will be able to resolve this issue if they login to another machine or if the machine is rebuilt but we got to know why this is happening.
So far 3 people are affected. Checked User Shell folders, Permissions, you name it. Can somebody from microsoft shed light please?
