Traitée UNC based connection to remote server works in Windows 8, but not in Windows 7

Have a remote server with AD authentication for which UNC can be used with any Windows 8 machine (domain or workgroup, local or remote), but for which UNC addressing does not work if using Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.  These latter machines return error 0x80004005. Form of UNC is: \\nottherealserver.com@SSL\eRoom\stuff\.  All the units can log into the website https://nottherealserver.com@SSL\eRoom\stuff\ .  The site is an EMC eRoom v7.44 server.  Cannot figure out if this is a server/AD configuration problem or a client configuration.  Strange that it works just fine in Windows 8, but not in Windows 7.

    Hi,

See if this helps, on the Win 7 computer right click the network connection properties.

Is the box ticked  Client for Microsoft Network, if not add and try again to connect to Remote Server.
