Remote Assistance in windows XP supported file transfer, voice and clipboard sharing. Windows 7 does not seem to support any of those. Is there a reason for this? I've heard that if you use easy connect, you can get some of those features back, but it seems easy connect needs IPv6 and we're nowhere near full adoption of IPv6 that in the real world.

Are there changes coming to remote assistance to resupport those critical tools? Are there any good work arrounds for sending files? It is weird that microsoft would take a step back in this area.

    Hi,

No, using the easy connect do not have those features yet.

You may use other tools to achieve your purpose. For example, you may use MSN messenger to transfer the files when you use msn to send the Remote Assistance request.

    More than 1 year later:

Remote Assistance still does not support clipboard sharing. Should be named "Windows 7 Unprofessional"...
