Diagnostics policy service not running on Windows 7 home premium

I'm unable to connect to internet through wireless connectionsr . it says limited access to wi-fi router. When i try to fix this it says diagnostics policy service not running. Checked services.msc While the type is set up to automatic Unable to start the service. I had similar problem with my LAN connection. After resetting my LAN connection i was able to connect to internet. Tried this on wifi as well but the issue remains.
Error code is 5: access denied

Hi,
Thanks for the post!
Go to your Device Manager and uninstall the network device, including the wireless network card, then restart the computer. Let the system automatically reinstall the driver for you. You can also manually update the network card driver to the latest one. After that, check if you can connect to the internet.
For the Diagnostics policy service issue. please click Start, input regedit in the search box, press Enter to open your Registry Editor, navigate to the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DPS\Parameters.
Right click this key, choose permission, click the user "Trustedinstaller", ensure the permission is set to "Full Control" and "Read". Then click OK to apply the change.
Restart the computer to check if this service is working now.
Regards,
Miya

Thanks Miya. But the solution doesn't work fro me. I don't see trustedinstaller as part of the list. I see only the following user
CReator Owner
System
Administrators
Users (pc)
Dhcp (i added this as one thread proposed this as a solution.

I had run the sfc \scannow last week but the end result was - no integrity violations found. Will try manual check as suggested in the thread and let you know. Really appreciate your prompt response. I'm seeking for any solution except for reloading the OS.

Shyam

In addition, did you try Repair your computer?
Before reloading the OS, you can choose to do an In-place upgrade. Refer to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2255099

Worked for me too. I'am not sure, but I think a windows update caused the problem.
I repaired the issue on a friend's computer and the last windows updates were dated 12 oktober 2012.
Thanks you very much.

I have tried this (@farhannasir) but the Diagnostics policy service is still NOT running.
I also tried other suggestion posted in this thread without success.
Any other sugesstions?
Both Network- and Internet-Connection work fine. It's just the Diagnostic Policy Service that is not able to run.
