Windows 7 not registering DNS A or reverse records

A couple of months back we deployed Windows 7 and I noticed they are not updating DNS with A records or PTR records for their subnet.
We have Server 2008 SP2 domain controllers and DHCP / DNS servers.
If I run ipconfig /registerdns from the command line on one of the Windows 7 machines, it creates a DNS A record and associated PTR record.
Can anyone advise why this is the case?

Run ipconfig /flushdns before redister DNS. For sure run dcdiag to check the DC health.
For AD problem use server forum aimed at DNS and AD.

Double check if there is NOT public DNS in interface card IP settings.

DCDIAG results are all clean.
There are no public DNS server settings on the client NICs
