Problems joining a PC with Windows 7 to a server with Windows Server 2008
- I have a server running Windows Server 2008. Up to now, I could join to the domain any PC with Windows XP with no problem.Now I was trying to join a PC running Windows 7 by the same procedure, but I have an error message that states that I should check if the DNS client is configured to communicate with a DNS server which can solve DNS names in the destination domain.Is this a compatibility problem?? Or is there something wrongly configured on Windows 7??Configuración IP de WindowsNombre de host. . . . . . . . . : CAIMI-17Sufijo DNS principal . . . . . :Tipo de nodo. . . . . . . . . . : híbridoEnrutamiento IP habilitado. . . : noProxy WINS habilitado . . . . . : noLista de búsqueda de sufijos DNS: intranet.frro.utn.edu.arAdaptador de Ethernet Conexión de área local:Sufijo DNS específico para la conexión. . : intranet.frro.utn.edu.arDescripción . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Controladora de red NVIDIA nForceDirección física. . . . . . . . . . . . . : 00-24-8C-DF-79-E7DHCP habilitado . . . . . . . . . . . . . : síConfiguración automática habilitada . . . : síVínculo: dirección IPv6 local. . . : fe80::20ff:72e8:9d8d:bcb4%11(Preferido)Dirección IPv4. . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.7.23(Preferido)Máscara de subred . . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0Concesión obtenida. . . . . . . . . . . . : martes, 03 de noviembre de 2009 11:26:17La concesión expira . . . . . . . . . . . : miércoles, 11 de noviembre de 2009 12:52:12Puerta de enlace predeterminada . . . . . : 10.0.7.254Servidor DHCP . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.2IAID DHCPv6 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 234890380DUID de cliente DHCPv6. . . . . . . . . . : 00-01-00-01-12-7C-E4-15-00-24-8C-DF-79-E7Servidores DNS. . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.2Servidor WINS principal . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.2Servidor WINS secundario. . . . . . . . . : 10.0.7.120NetBIOS sobre TCP/IP. . . . . . . . . . . : habilitadoAdaptador de túnel isatap.intranet.frro.utn.edu.ar:Estado de los medios. . . . . . . . . . . : medios desconectadosSufijo DNS específico para la conexión. . : intranet.frro.utn.edu.arDescripción . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : Adaptador ISATAP de MicrosoftDirección física. . . . . . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0DHCP habilitado . . . . . . . . . . . . . : noConfiguración automática habilitada . . . : sí

Can you change the network address in your router from 192.168.2.0 to 10.0.0.0? If so the issue should be resolved after you change it.
If you cannot change anything in the router, try to manually assign a IP address which is in192.168.2.0 and check the result again.

What is the device 192.168.2.2? Is it a router? I noticed that you have IP address in 10.0.0.0, but the address of and DHCP server is in 192.168.2.0.
A simple way for resolving it is set to obtain IP address automatically. Another way is replacing the router with a switch. Then manually set IP address which is in 10.0.0.0.
Arthur Xie - MSFT- Indeed, the device 192.168.2.2 is a router, although I can't replace it with a switch.In addition, all PCs (as this one) are already set to obtain IP address automatically, but I have never had this problem, up to now, with this PC running Windows 7.
