When I execute "net use lpt2 \\machine\printer" I receive
System error 85
The local device name is already in use
"Net use" shows that nothing is currently mapped to lpt2.
New connections will be remembered. Status Local Remote Network ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK P: \\xxxxx Microsoft Windows Network OK S: \\xxxxx Microsoft Windows Network OK V: \\xxxxx Microsoft Windows Network OK W: \\xxxxx Microsoft Windows Network The command completed successfully
Device manager only shows a physical lpt1 which I have disabled.
Local machine is win7 sp1 - remote machine is winxp sp3
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/253821 Has not solved the issue.
I get this error on lp1 and lpt2 and lpt3 as a standard network user with administrative privilages on both the local machine and the remote machine.
