Search of 2008R2 Mapped Drives not functioning on Win7 64bit client

I'm having issues getting search to function properly on a Windows 7 64 bit client. Scenario is this...
Server is 2008 R2 with file sharing and the Windows Search role installed.
The "D" drive that houses the file shares has been fully indexed and search performs as I would expect from the server it's self.
Search functions as normal from XP (32 bit)clients.
I have a Win 7 64bit client that has a couple of drives mapped to shares on the above server. The client PC can use search locally on it's "C" drive, but when you select one of the mapped drives, type a search term that generates numerous results on the server and hit enter nothing happens. Clearly it is not picking up the index from the server and the system will not even perform a non indexed search of the shares. I have rebuilt indexes both on the server and on the client, removed and reinstalled Windows Search on the client all with no impact on functionality. I'm out of ideas and hoping I am either missing something or that others have had (and solved) similar issues.

Hi,
I have a test, there is no result when I search a file with Explorer search directly, but you may press “Computer” below the results to have a further search again and the file will appear.
