Printer HP LasterJet 4350 and Windows Server 2008 Std.

In an office few users are using Windows XP and others are using Windows 7. When a Windows XP user (Not all XP users) try to print a .tif file with 1MB and 10 page size, it will print in few seconds. However, when a Windows 7 user try to print the same document it will take few mins to print the document. All of them are using same network printer from the printer server. The printer is using HP Universal PCL 6 (v5.4) driver. Tried re-configuring the printer for affected users. No luck. Few XP users also have the same issue. All of them are trying to print from their own local desktops.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Please try this test:

1.Click Start, type runas /user: local_computer_name\administrator cmd in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

2.When you are prompted for the administrator account password, type the correct password, and then press ENTER.

3.At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

Furthermore, this article may help for you to troubleshoot this kind of issue:

    Hi,

Thanks for the advise. I tried this option. But it didn't work. I don't understand where the issue is. Yesterday I renamed a user profile on Windows XP machine and its fixed the issue. But, same option I tried on the Windows 7 machine and it didnt work. I found that when a Windows XP user print a .TIF file with 3 MB size and 50 page, it will spool it in few seconds. But, when a Win7 user tried to print the same file, its taking minutes to print. Each page take few seconds to spool on the server. Its like 3 MB file will become 50 MB when it print the 50th page. I can see that "spooling - page 45 - 45MB/45MB" when a Win7 user print a 3MB file.

    Hi,

You can use this tool to troubleshoot printer problems

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-printer-problems

And open print management\custom filters\all drivers, remove unnecessary printer drivers.

Furthermore, try to isolate printer drivers for these users:

    1 Click “Start”

2 Input print management in Search box and press ‘Enter’

    3 Go to Print Management\Custom Filters\All Drivers

4 Right click a driver, set driver isolation, isolate it.

5 Set same option to all drivers

    Hi,

Tried this too but no luck. Only Windows 7 users have this problem and the issue reported only with .TIF files as of now.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Furthermore, you can try to temporary disable firewall and antivirus program for test.
