run MSCONFIG and use the BOOT menu to change the number of processors to themax you have.limit the programs that load/run at startup.use disk cleanup and defrag"Silver Dollar Senior" wrote in messagenews:8ed7df40-8826-4d65-9e0c-56e86f58f407@communitybridge.codeplex.com...> Windows 7 Ultimate has Installed me and I can take a nap between restarts.> Is there a list of things I can do to achhieve minimal re-boot>> times. Try this:
(make layout.ini then boot defrag, this could take a half hour)
start /wait rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks(optimize Readyboot or Readyboost on a usb stick)
reboot and login 5 timesOr just sleep and never reboot.
Make sure you have ahci drivers (native command queuing).

Let's all bow our heads for the death of msconfig in Windows 8.
