Answered POC jumpstart preinstalled application have expired already

When we use POC download to set it up for a customer demos/engagement preinstalled application such as Word, Visio, SQL, ForeFront, etc. have their evaluation period already expired.

Is there a way to “rearm” the applications  so that our customers could have full evaluation period available to them to play with the applications in a test lab before they start windows 7 deployments.

PoC Jumpstart 2.0 SQL Server Evaluation Expired

This answer did help with SQL part of it but it didn’t do anything in regards with Visio or Forefront.

    net stop vmictimesync

    date 9/1/2011

    net start mssql$pocserver

    net start mssql$microsoftscm

    net start mssql$maps

    net start vmictimesync

    Thanks

    Hi,

I checked with the POC team.

SQL can be restarted by setting the date back, we have  provided the steps when this first happened on the Technet forum-  Office will continue to work but will show as unlicensed.

Also the good news is, they will be shipping POC 3.0 soon.

Meanwhile can you check if this works for Office/word:

    Run this from an elevated CMD prompt: C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform\ OSPPREARM.EXE

    Thanks Niki and Sumesh

I hope someone generates a new VHD file with some kind of script that will update all of the products to the date when you first start the VHD.

    Hi Sumesh.

    Thanks for your help.

Hopefully it comes soon enough and they fix the little glitches like for example:

Windows network selection stopping office from installing. (Set the network type to work in CustomSettings.ini)

Forefront client doesn’t seem to be installing unless you are connected to internet.
