    Hi:

    I have written a VB.Net application that send out email messages using GMail's SMTP server and Port 587. This works fine on my home computer.

    But when the same application is run on my corporate laptop that has McAfee running, the SendMail function does not work. I do see in the McAffe logs that these requests are blocked.

    But on the same laptop, I have Outlook installed and one of the profiles is set up for GMail. I am able to send the email using this profile.

    My question is why Outlook is allowed to send messages using GMAIL profile but my application is getting blocked?

    Unless this is solved, I cannot use the application.

    Please advise.
