The Diablo 3 icon is stuck on my task bar.

When I right click it to attempt to unpin it, nothing pops up. I can left click it to open it, but when I right click, nothing happens at all.

Any ideas on how to get it off of there? Thanks!

    Delete the Diablo 3 shortcut from C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

(where user_name is your Windows user account username)

If it does not get removed even after deleting it from the folder, restart your system.

    Does a restart work?

    Anything in C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\ImplicitAppShortcuts  folder?

While I had no problems getting there...

It appears there isn't anything for me to delete related to Diablo 3...

This happened several days ago and since then I have turned my computer off several times.

    As for that folder:

There are two folders titled "7e4dca80246863e3" and "9d91276b0be3e46b" although they only contain shortcuts to 'Control Panel' and 'Windows Help and Support'.

There's also a Start Menu folder in the 'User Pinned' folder, but it doesn't contain anything related to what I am trying to remove.

    Maybe they are hidden?

Open the folder > select Organize from Windows Explorer toolbar > Folder and search options > View tab > Under "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files, folders and drives". Click OK.

Double checked to make sure that it was selected and it was. I've had that selected for a very long time, unfortunately.

Try booting up in Safe Mode and try to remove the pinned item. Also, you can try to clean your temp folder.

If it doesn't work, you may try installing Windows 7 SP1, or if you don't want to, then you might need to create a new user account, and import your files from the other account (see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile).

    Hi,

Based on my research, I'm afraid that we cannot unpin Diablo 3 icon from Taskbar via right clicking and choosing Unpin. This may be by Blizzard design
    .

Instead, we can try to right click its shortcut on Desktop or its executable file in the installation location and choose Unpin it from Taskbar.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello everyone

I have this exact same issue, with the exact same Diablo 3 icon that this other guy had. I have tried everything in this thread so far to troubleshoot. I also left clicked the executable file in the installation location and it said 'Pin to Taskbar' like it didn't know it was there. When I left click the desktop shortcut, I try to hit the 'Unpin' option with no success. Any help is appreciated, this icon has been on there for weeks.

    Thanks!
