I own a Asus X53S with a 1.3 Mpx webcam .  I have the drivers installed and the camera is working properly while using skype and msn .

i was wondering if I could start my camera using Windows 7 . On XP , it appeared in my computer . On win7, I can find it in Devices and printers, but I cannot start it .  Am I supposed to download smthing ?

                  Thx in advance

    mariu,

Are you able to use the webcam within other applications, e.g LiveMeeting or Skype? It'd be helpful to know whether it's installed correctly.

    mariu,

Unfortunately, many webcam drivers have not yet been updated to support Windows 7, and as such do not provide the option to take snapshots from the Devices and Printers menu. You'll have to rely on third-party applications for the time being.

You need a camera application from ASUS. There are various models (ieX53Sa , v,  r). I checked and there are different apps, but I can't tell which is the one.

So, check your manual for the name of the software that provides pics and video, etc and download the Vista version from ASUS for your model's version.

Don't forget to match 32-bit or 64-bit, whichever version of Win 7 RC that you installed.

It's not drivers, the camera works. It's an app that you need.

I am using a webcam (USB 2.0 camera) and I just bought it today. The problem is that the webcam is too close and I'm not sure how to zoom it out. Is it even possible to do that? I am using Presario by the way for Windows 7.
