Ok this is a bit of a long one and i've tried a few different things so please bare with me as I try to explain the problem and attempts (which have failed) to solve it:
I recently updated my nVidia drivers to the latest and also my SiSandra Lite
software (for quick access to accurate specs of my PC). After updating SiSandra
Lite, I looked at the GPU section. As usual it loaded the primary monitor first
where everything was fine. I then changed to look at my secondary and my primary
monitor turned off and my desktop was shifted to my second.
Now when I
boot my computer, my primary comes on, but after the pre and post bios. Only
when Grub comes on does something appear on my primary monitor, but it's very
low resolution (compared to what it used to be). The windows 7 loading bar
appears on my primary but before the logo can appear and glow, it swaps to my
secondary monitor where it stays.
Windows 7 cannot detect my primary
monitor trying both screen resolution detection and it's missing from the
devices menu. Really confused about this whole business.I have now also tried 2 system restores before both the install and GPU driver
update and still the problem persists. Strangely enough when I boot into safe
mode, it displays on my primary monitor but only at 800x600 resolution, which I
cannot change. Only 1 useless reply from SiSandra Lite company and no reply yet
from ASUS (GPU manufacturer). I also tried changing the secondary monitor to the primary slot in the GPU and the slot still works. I have also tried changing the cable going to my primary monitor.I am now at a loss of what to do...pls help!

I have (after aa week of seaeching) found the solution. For no apparent reason, my monitor now has a faulty DVI port, as when I use the VGA port, the sceen comes back as normal. The resolution while using the DVI is still at 640x480 where's with the VGA it reverts back to 1440x900 as it should be.
Any fixes for the hardware for resetting the monitor or will I have to use a VGA cable from now on?
Thanks
Ben
