Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT): Installed "successfully" but still cannot find out in Features
Dear All,
My working environment is Windows 7 ultimate x86. I want to run the Hyper-V manager in my Win7 in order not to use RDP to log on to my Hyper-V host(Win08R2).
What I have done is to install the Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=7d2f6ad7-656b-4313-a005-4e344e43997d, x86fre_GRMRSAT_MSU.msu).
I installed this package successfully, which is also listed in Windows Update\View update history:
Update for Windows (KB958830)
Installation status: Successful
But in the Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on or off dialog, I still cannot see the RSAT.
In the Programs and Features\Installed Updates, I cannot see the update, too.
If I re-execute the x86fre_GRMRSAT_MSU.msu, there won’t be any difference from the installation at first time. It will just report installed successfully.
Tried to install and restart OS several times, tried to install under Domain Admin and Local Admin, UAC disabled, nothing works.
Anyone could help? Or are there any possible trouble shooting steps?

I reinstalled my Windows 7, because the previous version was 6.1.7600.16384....
Now it is 16385 now, all things done.

- There are plenty of traps in setting this up, particularly with firewall settings. I would recommend using John Howard's hvremote tool.

But this time I don't want to manage my hyper-v server by script, I just to install the RSAT in my windows 7 client...
I installed the package successfully, but still cannot see the RSAT in the windows feature in control panel...
I am requesting the possible solution or trouble shooting steps…

DotNet Favs SHUFE.41- And you're trying to install it in Windows Virtual PC? This sounds more like a Hyper-V thing than Windows Virtual PC.
