I am Thai user. Now I installed Windows XP Mode on Windows 7 RC. I would like to install software that input in Thai language into Windows XP Mode. I found that I can install, but I cannot add languages (i.e. Thai in this case) and also I cannot add Windows components in Windows XP Mode because it needs Windows XP Professional SP3 Installation Disk, so I think when you release Windows XP Mode RTM, please provide necessary installation files, such as language component files, as copy in Windows XP Mode (i.e. copy them to C:\Windows\Options\cabs\ location).

Also, if you allow user to add languages into Windows XP Mode, please provide the virtual machine's Language Bar to host computer (both Windows XP Mode and Windows XP, Windows Vista virtual machine that installed RAIL QFE Beta integration component) (Note that you may provide only status of language that user selected in virtual application, I think you do not need to provide full feature of Language Bar).

Thanks very much Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC development team!

Yes, that is true for whom knows about Windows administration, but according to Windows XP Mode's brochure,

Windows XP Mode was designed for the small and medium business user who doesn’t have a lot of resources to spend on IT or on revamping important software.

So, that business may not have someone who known about Windows administration, they may know only their business. Also, many computers, like computer it installed Windows OEM, have no Windows installation CD (and users may not buy legal CD ... and now Microsoft stops selling Windows XP), so when users want to use some feature that require neccessary files in Windows installation CD. How can they find it legally?

small business ist up to 50 people per definition (germany).
i´m admin and we are 20 people. no one can say he doesn`t have the money to pay an admin. i have different customers who call me when they have a problem. this helps saving money.

You don't really need complete Windows Installation source.
Just pre-"install files for complex script and right-to left language (Including Thai)" in VHD is enough for allowing Thai language input in Windows XP.

I understand your point, but , for instance, how's about other languages? Because Microsoft don't know that which components user want to use, so they should provide all, or may provide by separate packages that user can download.

    Thanks for feedback.
For language packs, size of VHD will grow substantially. Why not use specific language VHD?
SMBs can use there existing XP CDs.

We have taken feedback for missing additional components like IIS which need source CD.

Please think about individuals who do not have Windows XP SP3 CD but want to run old application from their workplace. There is no Thai language VHD available from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx . VHD size does not matter. If you cannot type in your language, small VHD is not very useful. Please add "Thai" or "English (with Thai language support)" as a separate download option from normal English VHD. This way, Thai people can have a slightly bigger but useful XP Mode VHD and those who don't use Thai language can have small VHD as before.

I believe you may need to construct your own XP mode Virtual machine disk from scratch using the Windows Deployment Toolkit http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/solutionaccelerators/dd407791, starting from a plain Windows XP SP3 DVD. Then you have to place the applications on the correct start application folder to "publish" correctly back to Windows Vista/7 host.
