Ok, so I built the XP Mode VM the way that I need it for our clients. When I made this I made it fresh from the start menu under Windows XP Mode, and when I installed all of the applications another folder in the start menu under Virtual PC showed called XP Mode Applications. I was able to run these programs without having to go into the XP Mode itself. I sysprepped (resealed) the VHD so that each machine would would have a fresh start on it. I then took the VHD and brought it over to the first machine that I would test with the resealed VHD. After many complications I finally got it to work and everything is working fine, with one exception. The Windows XP Mode Applications folder in the start menu is no longer there. I'm pretty sure that this is because when I made the new XP Mode Machine I did not do it from the start menu but from the file location deeper within the system. People have answered the question as to why the applications will not show up on the Windows 7 side with the answer to delete the following registry entry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Virtual Machine\VPCVAppExcludeList] This registry is not available in the XP Mode registry. It goes as far as: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\] but the \Virutal Machine folder is not there. Why is this?
