Screen Saver doesn't work on XP Mode
-
Wednesday, November 18, 2009 9:08 AMI install Windows XP Mode on my Windows 7 Professional 32 bit OS. I set to 1 minute to enable screen saver on Windows XP Mode but it doesn't work.
Is this a limitation on Windows XP Mode?

Wednesday, November 18, 2009 6:28 PMJust so I can understand exactly what you're doing, are you running a published XP application from your Windows 7 desktop? Or are you running the XP Mode virtual machine in a VPC window?

Hi Ray945,
Is your problem WVPC cannot run screensaver?
If so, mostly this issue is caused by conflict programs. To troubleshoot this issue, please try to disable third party software from running in the background in WVPC.
Hope it helps. -

Hi Robinson,
My problem is that WVPC cannot run screensaver.
I just installed my WVPC and Windows XP Mode on my Win7 system.
Below is my steps that I install WVPC and XP Mode.
1.Install Windows 7 professional 32 bit OS
2.Install all device drivers.
3.Install Windows6.1-KB958559-x86.msu
4.Install WindowsXPMode_en-us.exe and KB961742-v3.exe.
5.Launch Windows XP Mode from Windows7 start menu
7.Go to display properties and select "Windows XP" as screen saver.
8.Set 1 minute to enable screen saver.
9.After 1 minute, screen saver is not enabled.
I check task manager and system configuration utility, there is no third party software running in the background in WVPC.
Hope it can make this question clearer. -

Screen saver is disabled in xp mode. This is done to not allow the screen saver to come in if a virtual app is open and is not used by the user for a long time.
