Reset file association for vhd files
-
Tuesday, January 24, 2012 5:54 PMI accidentally change the default file association of vhd files on my computer to use NotePad. How can I set it back as it was? When I select Open With, Windows Virtual PC does not appear in the listing anywhere, if I select search online, it states Windows Virtual PC is the proper program, but offer no explanation how to set it so (what is the point of that)?!

You don't open a VHD with VPC. The VHD is simply a hard drive file. You would open the .vmcx file to start a VM.
If you wanted to access a VHD you would mount it through disk management.

I corrected the problem. And if I double-click on the vhd files it launches the VM for me, so they are in fact associated (now they are at least).
@Moderators, please do not mark off responses as answers. If it were, I would have marked it as such.
