    Hi,

Ideally, After copying the application setup into the vm from the shared host drives, Put the vm is in the desktop mode (not fullscreen), Tools->Disable integration features, Login at the vm's login prompt. You should be able to install the application inside the vm. restarting of the vm or disabling host drive sharing is not required.
    Thanks, Rashmi U.R

    Hello

Please copy the setup locally and then install. Some applications cannot be installed from shared drive.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Try this and let us know if it helps.
Copy the installer locally inside the vm. On the vm's Window, select Tools->disable integration Features. If it  shows you a login screen, log in. Now try installing the application inside the vm.

Sorry, what do you mean with the installer. Is that part of the program I wish to install, or is it a special windows file.
Because, I see no Tools in the vm's Windows
    How can I find Tools

he means when you in the VM in windowed mode at the top you will see Tools --
but you hhave to be in windowed mode to see it not fullscreen.

if you have relocated  your files to for example you c:\ in your XP and it still doesnt work try right click properties and see if theirs a button that says Unblock that you can click. Although that might just be in Vista and + not sure, end of the day little woosy hehe

    Hello Rashmi.

    You gave me the solution.

1 Go to Virtual Windows XP mode
2 Load the content of the DVD in C:\ of XP (So not in Win7)
3 Reduce the window so that you see "Tools"
When you try to disable Integration features you have to give the administrator password, which I had not
4 Tools - Setting - Integration Features - Disable drives
This will make the win7 drives invisible
    5 Restart XP
    6 Install your program
    7 Enable drives

    Thanks for the help

You can login to the VM using UserName User and Password which you gave when setting up Windows XP VM.

    You are AWESOME!!! Thank you.

I just installed W7 x64 and totally forgot that Cisco VPN would not work in 64-bit.  I then remembered about the XP Mode, but came across the same installation problems as the OP.  However, I followed your instructions and sure enough, I was able to install Cisco VPN.  Only problem now, once connected to my work VPN, Remote Desktop is not connecting.  Oh well, I'll figure something out.  Right now, I'm glad that I can now use some of the 32 bit programs that weren't installing on x64 W7.

I got mine to install by mapping a drive letter and re-naming the drive I just mapped so that 'tsclient' isn't in the name.
