    I am using Windows XP professional with SP2 on a virtual machine...When I try to update windows...it takes me to Windows 7 purchase page after Windows Activation page...Is this cz i'm running Windows 7 in real and XP in a virtual machine..??

    That would usually mean that XP doesn't think it's genuine, or valid,
    and it is suggesting purchasing a replacement.  Since they don't sell
    XP any more, you get the Windows 7 purchase page.

    Have you activated XP?  Are you using a retail full licernse copy that is not in use on any other computer?
