    Hi,

I understand Windows 8 RTM is supposed to be posted today on August 15th for MSDN/TechNet subscribers to downloaded. It's just about 10am PT and have not seen it available yet.

    Any ETA?

    Thanks.

    Eric

Downloading Windows 8 Enterprise now, with an Enterprise Multiple Activation key. Was surprised to see this as I was under the impression Enterprise would only be available from Software Assurance. I also see Windows 8 Pro with 3 keys available. I have a Technet Pro subscription, so maybe that subscription level gets Enterprise.

I have a Technet Pro subscription but I don't see any Windows 8 Pro (non VLK) download.  All I have are Windows 8 and Windows 8 Enterprise.  There's also Windows 8 Pro VL, but I don't have a Volume Licensing subscription so I can't download that.  Weird that I would have access to Windows 8 Enterprise, but not Windows 8 Pro...

    In my list I see:

Windows 8 Enterprise, Windows 8 Enterprise (N), Windows 8, Windows 8 (N), Windows 8 Pro VL, and Windows 8 Pro VL (N). I'm assuming that the ones listed as simply "Windows 8" are Pro, even though it doesn't specify them as such. I base that on the fact that when I look at the key, it show the Pro key that I claimed.

Like you I can't DL the VL versions.

Thanks everybody! Yeah, I have what used to be Technet Pro but is now the "retail" version. I believe it was dropped down to 3 keys from 5 for retail product keys and where applicable, 1 MAK.

How many activations are the retail keys good for, anybody know? I want to say 10.

Historically 10. But isn't the MAK key for Enterprise essentially unlimited?

I'd heard that while theoretically unlimited, MAK through TechNet was 50 activations of the MAK product key and, as you mentioned, 10 activations per retail key (which was decreased from 5 to 3) when they re-adjusted the subscriptions.

    I only see <label class="description">Windows 8 Enterprise N Debug/Checked Build.  I'm looking in our MSDN account.  What's up with that?</label>

I loaded up the Enterprise MAK key in Volume Activation Management Tool now, and it seems it's 20 activations. This is sort of a contrast to my Windows 7 Enterprise key (from the same subscription) which provided me 500 activations...

I tested with a key claimed from my MSDN subscription and the limit is the same.

Oh, sure, maybe 500 is a bit rich, but 20 is a bit on the low end if you ask me.

I'm still trying to find my Win8 download!  I have a MS EAS and I do not see Win 8 in the VLSC anywhere!  I have a Samsung Slate that I'm dying to use in the enterprise!

I can't see it!  I need me some Windows 8!  I'm checking out my Enterprise Subscription details, my TechNet SA Services, etc...No Windows 8...what gives?

If you refresh that Win 7 Ent MAK key in VAMT, you'll see it's been decreased to 20 also..  :-/ I had 499 activations left (just tried one a while back..), now it says 19 left..

Windows 8 Preview only. Where's the RTM?

You will find that the new retail keys have 5 activations and the MAK has 20.
