I installed the Windows 8 CP and looks like everything is conpatable except my broadband modem. I have a PANTECH U185 modem that Windows 8 does not detect,
The lateset software and drivers for this modem work under Windows 7. I tried everthing as far as troubleshooting and I cannot get this modem to work. This is the most important hardware i have cause I cant connect to the internet with out it,
Im hoping that Microsoft will update this so I can use Windows 8
Thanks

Hey I Got The Same Problem.. Now Everything is Working Fine. What I Did Was,
1. Connected My Laptop To Internet Via Wifi (or Use DSL Connection).
2. Enable .NET Framework 3.5 In "Turn Windows On or Off"
3. About 95% People Get Error Message In Turning on This
4. To Enable This, Run "cmd" As Administartor
5. Copy This
dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:d:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess
As You See Above, You Should See "sources :d:".. Here The "d:\" refers The Drive Which Got The OS Setup Files (Bootable [Maybe DVD/Virtual Drive]).
Change The Drive According To that.
6. Now You Should Probably Able To Turn On Those Feature.
7. Now Goto "Turn Windows On or Off" And Under ".NET FRAMEWORK 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) " Check Both the Activation Options
i.e. HTTP Activation And Non-HTTP Activation.
8. Now Install .NET FRAMEWORK 3.5
9. Update Your Windows Update Using "Windows Update"
10. Yeahtzee! Your Modem Will Work Now!!
