    Microsoft,

What are you thinking? Pc users do not want to have that damn ugly metro UI, it's not working, looks like unusable shit.
Why not make it something as: windows 8 concept? That lookes really nice, and yea, then i'll think about buying it. But for now i will not :)..

That's ugly too, but a lot better then the ugly Metro UI. Don't know why Microsoft want to push us to that kind of shit?

Because the Statement of Steve Jobs still apply today:

The only problem with Microsoft is they just have no taste. They have absolutely no taste. And I don't mean that in a small way, I mean that in a big way, in the sense that they don't think of original ideas, and they don't bring much culture into their products.

Unfortunately, it's no longer just a lack of taste, but active pursuit of user manipulation by Microsoft executives.  The desktop is being made less pleasant in a blatant attempt to get you to like something that's inferior to the desktop experience past operating systems have delivered.

But take heart, it IS still possible to make the desktop look a lot like it did, and work a lot like it did.  You just have to tweak a bunch of stuff.  Having done that myself, I'm happy to report I can do virtually everything I've been able to do with Windows 7, and get the advantages of the more efficient Windows 8 implementation, as well as staying current with the latest security updates, etc.

Here's how my Windows 8 desktop looks at the moment...

There is far too much focus on the metro screen, and the "evils" of Microsoft. One is not obliged to use it as there are several built in, or third party alternatives. My major issue is with the actual use of the Metro apps. Full screen, no multitasking on the same screen .... The silliest manifestation is that MS themselves have few Metro applications to offer at present. They allege that the Metro screen is the new desktop. Should we then, be returned to that desktop after using an app. This does not happen, we are returned to the old desktop.

But, at least until I see the final product, I use a method similar to Noel's

The free and downloadable "Classic" menu, takes you, on boot up, straight to the desktop, with the old and comforting start icon and menu. With it installed, the average user cannot distinguish any difference from Windows 7!

    http://classicshell.sourceforge.net/

You need version 3.5.1 to have it take you straight to the desktop.  That's a new feature.

Just FYI, you can turn off the sensitivity of the hot corners in ClassicShell as well.  You may have installed a program you don't really need.
