Does anyone out there know if there is a difference between Win7 and Win8 where I could run batch files in my automated tests on virtual XP/Vista/Win7, but can't run the exact same ones on virtual Win 8 Consumer Preview?
I have automated tests set up to do things like run batch files (for an example) remotely on virtual machines (VMware Workstation 8). I can run the batch files on all the platforms (which are also all virtual machines) but when I try on Win8 Consumer
Preview the test hangs because something is not allowing the batch script to run - yet if you launch the batch file on the virtual machine itself, it will run.
To the best of my knowledge I have set the Win8 virtual machine up the same as all the others - but I may be missing something.
It can be caused by several reasons. You should tell us which step cannot process. Add some flags in script can help you to check.
