Proposed Answeronecare uninstall problem

    Got a wierd one. 
    In preparation for onecare going away....I switched to "wiindows security sessentials". 
    The problem is: when I uninstall onecare, my computer loses both my CD and DVD.  
    neither drive is usable....both are found by the system and both give the same error code in device manager:
    Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
    running XP

    If i reinstall onecare....they both reappear.
    Help Please
