    This is a strange question, and I am not sure if there is a forum that can answer it.

    Anyway, the question is this: If I make my own split button (by deriving from the Button class in the .NET framework) do I need to license the Fluent UI? In other words, does Microsoft claim intellectual property rights to the concept of a split button, even if you don't use Microsoft's code?
