HOW to DISABLE editdata.mso attachmenting In OUTLOOK 2007

When sending an email with outlook 2007, the recipients also receive an editdata.mso attachment. I’m not sending this attachment myself.
The email contains a signature I made.
I have already deleted the WORD 2007 template.

The email must be as HTML format.

Hi just wondering where this topic would fall under.

We are about to go through our PC replacement and wanted to get the USMT working so before we remove a users PC we run scanstate to capture their settings/data etc then remove and replace with a new PC and run loadstate to restore all users settings/data. The migration is from XP to XP. I have tried the below syntaxes and from what i can see it scans the PC and Loads successfully, however when a user logs onto the new PC nothing is transferred apart from the mapped network drive. Could somebody please help me.

Everything on my Lenovo T61 with Windows Vista Home Premium was working fine until I lost power. Before the loss, Windows Mail was working with the storage location on a Netgear ReadyNAS on my local intranet. After restoring power, the WindowsMail store location was changed some how to the default location on the C drive, of course with no account information or messages. When I try to change the storage location using the "Maintenance - Change Store location" buttons, I browse to the original store location on the ReadyNAS, with the old messages, but the "ok" button is not available to push. I also notice that the original files are "Read Only" and I can not change them for some reason.

hey guys,
I'm having a weird prob.I can not start a service with the administrator account.I've created a service and at the installation step via installutil it asks for the username and password there i give it the administartor account and password. The service gets installed commit successfull.
but when i goto start the service via SCM it gives me error 1069: The service did not start due to logon failure. I've google about it alot and everywhere i saw;the problem was pasword difference but i've tried changing my password and giving the service that password but it does not solve my prob. I'm using windows vista and i've seen in the local security policies the account is there in the logon as service group.

and the weird part is this service is running on the other machine which is having xp installed.

Any help appreciated..

Contacts in Exchange 2007 have custom attributes - at least I can set them in the Exchange console and also I can use them to select contacts for an address list...

What I cannot believe is that there is no commandlet to set this parameter in PS!
Is there a solution or a patch for this?

Problem: VSS writer & DPM on Windows Server 2008 R2

I got a problem with my custom VSS writer. It calls IVssCreateWriterMetadata::AddComponent (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa383595(VS.85).aspx) for a database component type. My VSS writer is also listed by VSSadmin.exe . However, nothing in Data Protection Manager (DPM) seems to indicate that DPM is seeing or backing up information provided by my VSS writer. What's the forum to ask?

I'm having some strange issues when deploying my IIS7 web application -- for some reason when I publish my web site on my 2008 Server running IIS7 the web site settings for "Default Document" and "HTTP Response Headers" get reset to default values (not the ones I had set prior to my publishing). Everytime I publish my web code, I have to manually go back and change these values back in IIS7 -- very frustrating.

My method of publishing my web site:
1. VPN - RDP to site
2. delete existing web site files
3. copy new web site files from my dev PC

Is this a bug, or is there some other method in which I can have these settings be "retained" after each publish?

ConfigMgr 2007 (apparent) beginning of semi-catastrophic failure

I've come to a point where I don't want to dig any deeper, as I may find something else that appears to be broken.

It all started way back when (last week) as I tried to upgrade to SP2 from SP1 R2. SMS components failed to install. Then ConfigMgr said that the servers were unreachable, yet I could ping them. Ok, fine...put the upgrade on the back burner and research the issue.

Then PXE decided to stop working. Not too bad, have had this happen before, so I started running through the motions:
Verify that all the components are installed, all services running, can ping the server from the client machine.
Rebooted both servers just for grins. (two servers involved for now).
Checked the certs, even created new ones.

This is when I ran into the next issue. The boot images will no longer update. They fail almost immediately, showing red "Xs" for every step.
Searched and found posts claiming the AIK may have something to do with it. No prob - uninstalled, rebooted, installed, rebooted (for grins), tried updating the image again.
No go. Nothing in event viewer as far as I can see. Have tried searching through the various ConfigMgr logs, no luck so far.
Uninstalled the AIK again, and installed a different version. Still no luck.

Stumbled into another minefield: in Site Status, several of the SMS components have gone critical, with one (SMS Distribution Manager) showing over 52,000 errors now. Researching into the errors, I found that there is a tool called the ConfigMgr Service Manager (SMS Service Manager), but it also refuses to work, so I can't try to log what is happening with the SMS components.

I basically don't want to look into another location, because I feel like I'm going to find something else broken at this point.

So where would THIS issue go?

Can not access a mapped drive in Visual Studio 2008 (Vista 64)

I am unable to see mapped drives in Visual Studio 2008. I initially encountered this problem because Visual Studio could not find the VSS srcsafe.ini file on a mapped drive. If I run VSS 2005 it finds it fine. When I tried to open a project/solution, the file browser there also does not show any mapped drives. This is the case with both mapped network drives and when I mapped a drive to a shared local directory. I can browse the mapped drives without problem in Windows Explorer.
I am running Vista 64 and Windows Update has me up to date.

Deploy a site to iis7.0 via Web Deploy Tool

i am using the web deploy tool to deploy my website to iis 7.0. the export->import are successful and the site is deployed, but the binding to the ssl certificate (which is included in the site) is 'broken' -> i need to edit the site's binding, and re-set the certificate selection in the https bind. i am using the following command to deploy:
cmd /s /c "C:\Program Files\IIS\Microsoft Web Deploy\msdeploy" -verb:sync -dest:auto -source:package="C:\CS-IIS.zip",encryptPassword=******"
is my script wrong? is this a known issue? what can be done to fix this?

HideTransportToolbar when autoplay in Media Center full screen mode

Hi,

I wrote an hosted html appliaction which support DVD playback and registered as DVD player. (uiFlags = "HideTransportToolbar" was set)

When insert DVD disc under Media Center full screen, it would navigate to WMC's App selection page.
In the page, if I select my app to play the inserted disc, My app will run with WMC's transport toolbar

But if I use "MediaCenter.NavigateToPage() would not have such issue.

have you encounter such problem before? is it correct behavior or bug?

I have a problem with ADO. After establishing the connection, I'm not doing anything that is queries to the database are not sent. After a while breaks the connection from the base, but raw_Execute work out, but get_EndOfFile shows that the end of file.

I have looked on the TechNet, MSDN, and Answers Forums, and on the overall Microsoft Forums, but none of the forums I see seem appropriate for this topic. The closest is the MSDN Windows Live ID: Development Forum, but it is not very active nor would it seem to be for end-user support.

I bought my Toshiba Laptop computer from Best Buy at the end of January 2009 and 2 days ago out of the blue i get an error code saying that the product key that i typed in is invalid...my options are either to Buy a new product code, retype the product key or go to microsoft for help. I have not changed anything on my computer concerning vista or window other than installing the updates that are recomended when recormended....i did the diagnostic test as recomended and it says that my product key is invalid.....why would my product key be invalid when i have not done or changed anything to my computer...what should i do? (p.s. i have tried the slui.exe 4 that has been said in other threads...all it gives me are the 3 options i have listed above...i am not a computer nerd by any stretch of the imagination so i do not know how 2 go into limited functionality mode with out specific instructions on how to do so)

KB971961 Javascript Update broke my application

Not sure which is the best forum to put this issue, so that's why I'm posting here.

In September some local users on one of side networks (not the network we developers are on) claimed they could not use a web app we developed. They had been able to use it just a few weeks prior.

The app uses a combination of Javascript and ActiveX to allow the user to select (through the app) documents on their local drive to "import". The import process displays the file using Spicer Imagenation ActiveX control. And finally the users can "Save" the document which will convert the file to PDF for storage on our servers.

The error they were running into was when they were selecting the file for import. The common windows browse control is being used - they can highlight the file, but when they click "OK", they receive the following message:

Imagenation Error:
The 'Import Sample.txt' file cannot be opened.

This happens with any file they attempt.

Later we find out that if the source file is on the user's "Desktop", the file imports just fine. It only seems to have an error when the file is elsewhere on the computer (I believe the "Desktop" is the default location when browsing).

Jump forward a few days!

One user on their network is able to import files just fine. I compare his security settings, IE settings, and windows updates to the faulty workstations. The only difference is that he does not have Windows Hotfix #971961.

After going through the process of getting permission to temporarily remove this hotfix from one of the computers that is not working. After uninstalling it and rebooting the user can import just fine.

The Security Update documentation isn't giving me any real information on how to code around this (I'm assuming that's to keep bad guys from coding around this).

I'm working on having one of the broken machines point at a developer's machine while they debug (maybe displaying the path before running the code). But being on separate networks it's taking a bit of time.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping this issue will not happen at the client locations, but it may.

Transfer references from one computer to another in WORD

I run three computers that all have Office 2007. I want to merge the references in WORD that are on each of these computers. The references I am talking about are under the reference tab. They are bibliography sources. I am looking for a way to transfer them to each of my computers without having to retype those that are not on the other computers. Any help would be great.

Moving A Data Cube Into and Out of Excel Over a Network

My task is to explore how one might accomplish the following. Assume there exists a fancy piece of software that talks XMLA. It is able to produce a data cube. The data cube is to be sent over a wire for consumption and display by Microsoft Excel. Ideally, there will be a pivot table display of one aspect of the data cube. The end user will be able to use Microsoft Excel to view and modify the data cube. Eventually, the data cube, as modified, is to be sent back to the fancy software over a wire. Is this possible? How? Which forum applies?

A scan indicated that Trojan.Fakegina is on my machine. I followed instructions to remove it from the Windows registry, but when I got to the registry the indicated value "GinaDLL"="fakegina.dll" wasn't there. Where can I find out more about removing this trojan, or find out for sure if my machine is infected?

I want to make an application which can create video using its own intelligence.

Explaination:
User will provide number of images,text,audio sound, In short all the multimedia options as well as user will select the size of resulted video along with the type of the resulted video extention(.mov, .avi etc).
Now the aplication will be selecting all the inputed resources and will create video ,which will be of specified size and having extention as per the users requirement.

I'm confused that where do i start from and where can i find API which will help me going ahead.

Dear All,
I have a HP Proliant with Xeon processor with Windows Server 2008 x64 running it.
I have a problem while i try to install updates, error code 800B0100
I tried with last know good configuration and it didn`t work.

My problem is that i can not see the Roles and Features.

According to my opinion this problem I caused by my self.
I was trying to install some roles to prepare the server
for the Exchange 2007. One of them asked me to restart the
server (I dont remember which one).
I did not restart it I left for latter on because my colleagues where
still working in some files (file server).
When I opened it after a while I saw the message saying that the
update Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 can not be installed.
I tried many thinks and nothing is working.

Extracting data from Exchange Server 2003 store to SQL Server 2005 DB?

A business partner will be emailing us data to a private Exchange address--which we would like to be unmonitored. We would like to extract the data from those messages into a SQL Server DB; Exchange and SQL Server are on separate boxes. I have regular expressions that can extract the data, but I can't yet get to the messages themselves. Ideally, we would like for the solution to remain on the server side, rather than have someone monitor the email account and manually process the incoming messages.

We have installed SQL Server 2005 Express on the Exchange 2003 box and tried to access the Exchange store as a linked server, but I keep getting security error messages (using every permutation of SA, domain admin, and individual user accounts that I can think of).

Another possible/theoretical solution might involve automatically saving messages as .TXT to the file system. I have also read a little about event sinks, but not enough to get started down that path.

What/where would be the best forum to get some answers/solutions to this issue? TIA!

Groove 2007 re-installation

I've recently purchased a new laptop and am running Windows 7 on it. Installing various programmes I need was going along fine including installing Groove 2007. I launched the application and it asked me about my account so I pointed it to the account file I'd saved. The launchbar opens fine and it shows the 4 workspaces I have set up or belong to, but it won't actually download the contents and let me re-join the workspaces.
Any ideas of where I can go for help with this / where to start looking?
